Ingredients
  

For the rice
  • 2 cups sushi rice Use Tilda brand for best results.
  • 2.5 cups water Add a tad more if needed.
For the Spam and toppings
  • 1 can Spam Classic flavor is recommended.
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce Feel free to splash in more if desired.
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar Enhances the flavor of the rice.
  • 2 sheets nori (seaweed) Can be found at Asian grocery stores.
  • 1 bunch green onions, chopped For garnish.
  • to taste sesame seeds (optional) For added crunch.

Method
 

Cooking the Rice
  1. Rinse the sushi rice until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
  2. Cook the rice according to the rice cooker's instructions or boil water, cover, and simmer until done.
Preparing the Spam
  1. Slice the Spam into thick slabs to ensure they have a perfect crispy exterior.
  2. Cook the Spam slices in a pan until they start to sizzle and crisp up nicely.
Assembling the Bowls
  1. Place a scoop of rice into each bowl.
  2. Layer on the Spam slices and drizzle with soy sauce.
  3. Top with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
