Ingredients
  

Noodles and Base Ingredients
  • 8 ounces lo mein noodles or any noodles available
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or whatever's on sale
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced add more if you love garlic
  • 1 cup broccoli florets fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup sliced bell peppers any colors you have
  • 1 cup shredded carrots optional, can skip if desired
  • 2 green onions, chopped adds flavor and color
Sauces and Seasonings
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce Kikkoman is recommended
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce optional, adds umami flavor
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Cooking the Noodles
  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook the lo mein noodles according to package instructions, usually about 5-7 minutes.
Heating the Oil
  1. In a large non-stick pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
Sautéing the Veggies
  1. Add minced garlic first, followed by broccoli, bell peppers, and shredded carrots. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes.
Combining Noodles and Veggies
  1. Toss in the cooked noodles and mix well with the vegetables.
Seasoning the Noodles
  1. Drizzle soy sauce and oyster sauce over the noodles, tossing to ensure even coverage. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
