Preparation
- Gather and chop your onion, mince your garlic, and get your shrimp ready.
Cooking the Shrimp
- In a large frying pan, melt the butter over medium heat and add the shrimp. Cook until pink—about 3-4 minutes.
Sauté the Aromatics
- Remove the shrimp temporarily and add the onions to the same pan. Sauté until soft and translucent, then add the garlic.
Add Stock and Orzo
- Pour in the chicken stock and bring to a simmer. Add the orzo and cook according to package instructions.
Incorporate the Cream
- Once the orzo soaks up most of the stock (about 8 minutes), add the double cream and stir well.
Finishing Touch
- Stir the shrimp back into the pan and allow to warm through for another 2-3 minutes.
