  • 1 large cucumber English cucumbers are the best—peeled before slicing

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by trimming the crusts off the bread slices using a sharp knife.
  2. Generously spread cream cheese over one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Slice the cucumber thinly—about ¼ inch thick is ideal.
  4. Layer the cucumber slices on top of the cream cheese spread, sprinkle a little salt, and add dill if desired. Place another slice of bread on top.
  5. Cut each sandwich into quarters—triangles or rectangles.
