Ingredients
  

For the pastry
  • 1 package puff pastry, thawed Use store-bought for convenience.
  • 1 egg egg, beaten For brushing to achieve a golden sheen.
For the filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Make sure it's nice and soft.
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar Add more if you like it sweeter.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Adds depth of flavor.
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Lindt or other quality chocolate recommended.
  • a pinch salt Enhances the flavor of the sweet filling.
For finishing
  • powdered sugar powdered sugar for dusting For that elegant finish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  3. Lightly flour your surface and roll out the puff pastry into a larger rectangle.
  4. Cut the pastry into squares, about 4 inches each.
  5. Place about a tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture and some chocolate chips in the center of each square.
  6. Fold each square over to form a triangle and press the edges to seal.
  7. Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Finishing Touches
  1. Let them cool slightly and then dust with powdered sugar.
