  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure butter is at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs Room temperature
Add-ins
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Use semi-sweet or dark chocolate

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Mixing
  1. In another bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Gradually blend in the dry mixture.
  4. Stir in chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  2. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
  3. Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
