Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, using a mixer, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- Mix in the softened cream cheese until fully combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until incorporated.
- Fold in the chocolate chips (and nuts, if using).
- Scoop heaping tablespoons of dough onto parchment-lined baking sheets.
Baking
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until the edges are golden brown.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
